News and information
The Careers department at Weston Favell School oversees work with our students with partner agencies such as Connexions and Aimhigher Northants. Our students benefit from the exceptionally good relationships established with these organisations. Connexions personal advisors spend three to four days per week in school. We have a new Connexions area in the new building, which has a Connexions Information area plus an office for one to one interviews and small group work. There are new initiatives and projects being developed such as the ….to support a specially selected group of Year 11 students
The school is unusual in that the Careers Co-ordinator is both a qualified teacher and a qualified careers advisor. The impact of this is most clearly seen in the destination statistics of our 6th formers. For example, in August each year over 90% of our Higher Education applicants successfully gain places at their chosen universities. Bespoke, up-to-date curriculum materials are also written and Form Tutors given training in their delivery, so that they can support their students with confidence.
